We are a grass roots organization with the objective of growing the Republican Party and disseminating its core values to the greater Ormond Beach, FL community. In addition, our purpose is to make our Party and America strong through participating in and supporting Republican solutions to our country’s problems. We strongly believe that all area voters must be made aware of conservative ideas and solutions resulting in positive improvement on how all levels of government operate.

Just this past couple of weeks - here is a sampling: Florida's budget cuts - school board budgets - the Federal deficit - the Federal Budget - the upcoming 2012 Presidential election - dancing with the stars - American Idol - the newest IPad - Japan's Earthquake and Nuclear Power Plant leak - Elizabeth Taylor - will the NFL play this year - Charlie Sheen - Major League Baseball begins new season - who's the favorite in the SEC this fall - the price of gas -
Enough Distractions? How do we stay on message when we are bombarded with news, events of the day, and our own personal lives? How do we get the conservative point of view across - and should we even try?
There is a thirst for leadership in this country - will you step up? One person at a time, we can make a difference by setting the example, discussing our values with others, and letting our opinion be known when it is asked for.
We are all busy with our lives, reaching our goals, doctors appointments, schedules, etc. But the Republican Party needs people to take time, little by little, to make a difference out there in the "real world".
I had the privilege to attend a luncheon where Col. Jack Jacobs, USA Retired, Medal of Honor Recipient, was the keynote speaker. His view of the world is very unique as one could imagine. His story is well documented, but what I took away from his discussion is that community service, commitment to making a difference, and getting involved with our youth is where it is at. For a brief time, my busy life and my concerns were swept away as I imagined myself in his position, grateful to be alive, having risked so much for no expectation of survival, let alone being awarded the Medal of Honor.
I challenge you to fight through the distractions. Get involved in a young person's life. Be a leader in the community without having to be elected! This country needs you, and this community needs you!
We have elections coming in 2012 - but until then, we have ample opportunity to make a difference on a daily basis.
