We are a grass roots organization with the objective of growing the Republican Party and disseminating its core values to the greater Ormond Beach, FL community. In addition, our purpose is to make our Party and America strong through participating in and supporting Republican solutions to our country’s problems. We strongly believe that all area voters must be made aware of conservative ideas and solutions resulting in positive improvement on how all levels of government operate.
HEALTH CARE BILL SIGNED INTO LAW - NOW WHAT DO WE DO?
Now that President Obama has signed the Health Care Bill into Law, each of us needs to decide if we are going to passively complain and wait for the next election, or are we going to actively work toward ensuring that Republican candidates around the country get elected in November 2010. The easy route is to say that we will vote in November and be sure to go to the polls. The harder but more effective route is to support candidates that believe in Republican values by volunteering time, effort, and money to ensure a successful outcome. But what can we do now?
Now is the time to talk to friends, colleagues, neighbors, and family members. Discuss and debate ideas, policies, and core values. Just the act of discussing these issues will sharpen your ability to verbalize key points and make a more convincing argument. This will become more important as we get closer to the election in November.
Also, call your legislators and let them know what you are thinking and where you stand on issues. It is our duty as citizens to be involved in the process, whether that be on the local, state, or federal level. You would be surprised at the impact that you can have on issues if only you share your concerns and ideas with our elected officials.
We are living in interesting times! Just when we think we can predict the political landscape, something happens that makes us reassess our predictions. I urge you to become a part of the process, and encourage others to do the same.
Come to our meetings, engage your elected officials, and discuss issues with the people you know. It will make a difference, and before we know it, the Congressional mid-term elections in November will be here!
